Northern Rockies Wilderness Photo Contest 2001
Local
photographers show off the beauty and diversity of the Northern Rockies!
From mountain ranges to river valleys, ice climbing to canoeing, and great grey owls to buffalo, the contestants in the Regional Districts photo contest this year caught it all!
The backcountry “Gateways” program, an initiative to make Fort Nelson the “gateway” to the adventure tourism opportunities that exist in the region, initiated a photo contest for two reasons…
1) to raise awareness within Fort Nelson and the region of the natural beauty and range of outdoor recreational opportunities available to both residents and visitors.
2)
to increase the region’s stock of local photos for use in promotional material
such as brochures, print ads, the website and so on.
