Background

The policy of the Ministry of Crown Lands is to seek the opinion of the Town Council or Regional Board regarding all lease or purchase applications for Crown Land.

The following policy has been established pertaining to such referrals.

Policy/Objective

Oil & Gas, Big Game Outfitters and other similar Crown Land Referrals shall be reviewed and dealt with by the Administrator, with quarterly reports to be prepared and submitted to the Regional Board summarizing all Crown Land Referrals dealt with for the past three months.

Development of Crown Land Referrals related to major development proposals, particularly for Commercial operations in the immediate area surrounding Fort Nelson or along the Alaska Highway Corridor shall be referred to the Zoning and Planning Committee for their review and recommendation prior to going to the Regional Board.
