Background

On occasion various 'user groups' have approached the Town Council/Regional Board for permission to use the Town Square Parking lot for various events (ie. Children's Festival).

Policy/Objective

In order to facilitate timely answers to requests for use, the Administrator is authorized to approve requests for use of the Town Square Parking lot

Implementation

Written requests shall be forwarded to the Administrator for his/her consideration and decision. A letter reflecting said decision is to be forwarded to the user group with a copy of same placed on the next Council Information Package. Staff members are to be advised of the proposed dates for parking lot use. Other uses of the Town Square, including the Phoenix Theatre, will be taken into consideration before permission is granted.
